Born in Detmold in 1970, Gernot Kaspersetz worked as a guitar technician/backliner on tour – a vocation that saw him travel the world for ten years. In the course of this professional development, he worked with nationally and internationally renowned artists, including Fettes Brot, Die Ärzte, Patrice, Colosseum, Tokio Hotel and many others. At the same time, he began taking photographs on tour. In 2018, the magazine „Die Deutsche Bühne“ published a four-part series with photos by Kaspersetz. Since then, commissioned work for actors, music ensembles and bands has followed. Kaspersetz has been running the “Chips’n Helles Fotokiosk” with Daniel Adriaans in Bielefeld’s old town since April 2023 Which is a bit of an exhibition space and a bit of a studio, but mainly a good place to be creative. Gernot Kaspersetz’s main job has been as an orchestra roadie at Theater Bielefeld and with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra since 2007.
